Days 1 + 2: Bozeman Hot Springs
Immerse yourself in the vibrant mountain town of Bozeman for two days, where outdoor adventure meets cultural charm. Explore Bozeman’s historic downtown Main Street, filled with locally-owned shops, farm-to-table restaurants, and craft breweries—perfect for a leisurely stroll, even in winter. Indoor attractions include the Museum of the Rockies and the American Computer and Robotics Museum. If you're a skiing enthusiast, hit the slopes at nearby Bridger Bowl or take a day trip to Big Sky. Nordic skiers can head to Crosscut Mountain Sports Center or enjoy the local Bozeman community trails. After a day of adventure, relax and rejuvenate at Bozeman Hot Springs, where 12 different pools and both dry and wet saunas await. Spend the night in rustic, cozy cabins at Bozeman’s award-winning hot springs campground, or choose from a variety of downtown lodging options, including modern boutique motels and chain hotels.
Day 3: Livingston
Start your day with breakfast in Bozeman, then take a scenic 30-minute drive east to the charming town of Livingston. Explore the town’s excellent bookstores, art galleries, and museums, including the Yellowstone Gateway Museum. Don’t miss a stop at Babione’s Wilson Boot Company for an authentic pair of western cowboy boots. Enjoy dinner and drinks at the historic Murray Hotel, where you can also stay overnight in a Victorian-style room with western flair—this hotel was a top 10 favorite of Anthony Bourdain. Livingston also offers a variety of chain hotels along Park Street.
Day 4: Chico Hot Springs
From Livingston, take the stunning Paradise Valley Scenic Loop to reach Chico Hot Springs. Spend the day soaking in the mineral-rich waters, or before your soak, enjoy some snow time with cross-country skiing or snowshoeing. For an added adventure, book a dogsledding experience with Mill Creek. Dine on-site at Chico, and be sure to save room for their famous Flaming Orange dessert. Alternatively, head to Sage Lodge for a delicious meal before returning to Chico's Saloon for live music. Overnight at Chico Hot Springs.
Day 5: Yellowstone Hot Springs
After a hearty breakfast at Chico, head south for less than an hour to Gardiner, the Northern Entrance to Yellowstone National Park—the only entrance open in winter to personal vehicles. Spend the day exploring the northern areas of the park, including the Mammoth Hot Springs Terrace. In the late afternoon, unwind with a soak at Yellowstone Hot Springs, and then enjoy dinner at the Emigrant Saloon or the Emigrant Outpost near Pray.
