5-day Hot Springs Getaway In Western Montana

Quinn’s Hot Springs + Symes Hot Springs + Lolo Hot Springs + Bitterroot Valley + Lost Trail Hot Springs

Day 1: Quinn's Hot Springs Resort

Kick off your Western Montana hot springs adventure in Missoula before heading to Quinn's Hot Springs Resort in Paradise via U.S. Interstate Highway 90. Spend your day indulging in the resort's five natural flow-through hot springs pools, including a refreshing cold plunge. Quinn's also offers two salt-treated pools perfect for young children. Enjoy a comfortable overnight stay in one of the cozy cabins or the lodge with scenic views of the Clark Fork River. Savor meals at the on-site Harwood House and Quinn's Tavern. Be sure to book your stay early, as this popular resort fills up fast!

Day 2: Symes Hot Springs

After breakfast at the Harwood House, drive just over 30 minutes north to the charming town of Hot Springs and the retro Symes Hot Springs Hotel and Mineral Baths. Relax in their three hot springs pools, or opt for a private indoor tub in this Spanish-style hotel. Dine at the Symes Bathhouse Grill and Cantina, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. If you're visiting on the weekend, enjoy live music performances. Hot Springs offers three additional soaking options, including the Alameda Hot Springs Retreat, a spa motel with private suites featuring hot mineral baths.

Day 3: Lolo Hot Springs

Start your day with a coffee from Daily Grind Espresso Bar at Symes, then head south to the Bitterroot Valley, passing through Missoula on the way. About two hours from Symes, you'll find Lolo Hot Springs. Before soaking in the mineral-rich pools, consider renting a snowmobile for a thrilling ride or explore the area's Nordic skiing trails. After your adventure, relax in the hot springs, dine at the saloon, and spend the night in a cozy on-site cabin.

Day 4: Explore the Bitterroot Valley

Take a break from soaking and explore the scenic Bitterroot Valley, known for its Old West charm along the Bitterroot River. Visit local breweries, cideries, coffeehouses, and shops. Explore museums and galleries on the quaint main streets of the valley's vibrant communities. For outdoor enthusiasts, snowshoeing and Nordic skiing trails abound, and snowmobiling on the Lolo Peak trail is a popular option. Enjoy dinner at the Mission Bistro in Stevensville, then either stay overnight in Hamilton or at Lost Trail Hot Springs, where you can relax in a cabin or lodge.

Day 5: Lost Trail Hot Springs

Start your day with some skiing at Lost Trail Powder Mountain before soaking in the natural hot springs at Lost Trail Hot Springs in Sula. Unwind in the outdoor pool or dry sauna, or relax in the 8-person indoor hot tub or the spacious, covered hot springs pool. The on-site restaurant is open on Fridays and Saturdays in winter—call ahead to confirm. If it's closed, bring your own food or make the 45-minute drive to Hamilton for a delicious dinner.
